The 28mm/F3.5 AIs lens is one of my favorites.  Extremely sharp and controls flare quite well.  Stopped down, the corner sharpness is superb.  This lens, coupled with the Nikon K1 extension ring, is fantastic for macro photography.  Because of its versatility,  it almost always accompanies me on any field trip.

The photo above is of the Concord River after a night of freezing rain and a small amount of snow.  Luckily I had my camera with me because one hour later all the snow had melted off the trees.  For this photo all that was required was conversion to black and white and contrast adjustments.
